Flame-retardant polyamide PA6 Promyde B30 P BL01

Description

Promyde® B30 P BL01 is an injection molding grade of polyamide 6 (PA6) in standard black color with heat and UV stabilization and an internal lubricant. Grade designation: B — injection grade, 30 — relative viscosity η_rel ≈ 3.0 (low, for fast filling of thin-walled parts), P — process-stabilized, BL01 — Black 01 (standard carbon-black-based colorant, UL certified).

A dedicated grade for series-produced molded parts operating outdoors or under direct sunlight. The black color based on highly dispersed carbon black provides additional UV protection (absorption of UV light by the surface layer) — critical for outdoor applications, where unmodified PA6 degrades within 6–12 months. The combination of a UV stabilizer and an absorbing pigment extends the service life of the finished part to 5–10 years of outdoor use.

Typical parameters: density ~1.13 g/cm³, η_rel ≈ 3.0, MFR ~25–35 g/10 min (275 °C / 5 kg), HDT/A ~60–75 °C (1.8 MPa), Tm 220 °C. Base flammability rating UL 94 V-2 (standard for PA6, self-extinguishing with possible dripping). Color stability — minimal whitening and haze after 1000+ hours of QUV testing (ISO 4892-3).

Limitations

• UL 94 V-2, not V-0 — allows drips of burning material; for FR-critical electrical applications (V-0 / 5VA) consider dedicated FR grades of PA6
• High water absorption of PA6 (~9 % at saturation) — the part changes dimensions and loses up to 30 % of its stiffness in permanently humid environments; for marine and tropical conditions consider PA610 or PA12
• Black color only (BL01) — not for applications with color branding requirements other than black
