Polyamide PA66 reinforced with 30 % carbon fiber — Examid® PA66 CF30
Description
Examid® PA66 CF30 is polyamide 66 reinforced with 30 % carbon fiber. The material features exceptional stiffness, high tensile and flexural strength, and heat resistance up to 182 °C. This level of reinforcement delivers properties approaching those of metals with a significant reduction in structural weight.
Thanks to its low water absorption compared with PA6-based compounds, Examid® PA66 CF30 is suitable for long-term service under variable humidity.
The material demonstrates high flowability and low shrinkage, making it suitable for molding thin-walled and complex shapes, including multi-cavity molds.
Key advantages
- Efficient reinforcement: 30 % CF provides a modulus of up to 17 500 MPa at reduced density
- High thermal stability: HDT up to 182 °C — geometry retention under thermal load
- Low linear shrinkage (~0.4 %): high molding accuracy and repeatability
- Creep resistance: reliable performance under long-term mechanical loads
- 15–20 % weight reduction: compared with glass-filled analogues
- High processability: stable molding of complex and thin-walled components
Applications
- Metal-replacement components in mechanical engineering and robotics: brackets, guides, housings
- Automotive assemblies: engine compartment parts, fasteners, transmission elements
- Aviation and aerospace industry: lightweight, stiff, geometrically stable elements
- Load-bearing and structural assemblies: where stability under load and temperature is critical
