Exablend® PPS GF30Y — 30 % Glass-Filled Polyphenylene Sulfide, V-0 Balanced Series
Description
Exablend® PPS GF30Y is a polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) based compound reinforced with 30 % glass fibre. It belongs to the “Y” series — balanced grades with a proven combination of properties at a moderate price. A standard working grade for parts that require high stiffness, V-0 flame resistance and heat resistance without excessive cost.
The semi-crystalline PPS matrix combined with 30 % glass fibre provides a flexural modulus of 10 370 MPa, a flexural strength of 242 MPa, a tensile strength at break of 144 MPa and a UL 94 V-0 flammability rating at 1.5 mm thickness without additional flame retardants. Low linear shrinkage of 0.11 % ensures high dimensional stability.
The chemical resistance of PPS to most solvents, acids and alkalis is retained; any specific environment should be verified taking temperature and contact time into account.

Processing recommendations
Injection molding. Barrel temperature profile: rear zone 290–310 °C, middle zone 300–320 °C, front zone 310–340 °C; melt temperature 300–340 °C. Mold temperature 130–160 °C. Injection pressure 70–130 MPa, holding pressure 40–90 MPa, back pressure 7–15 MPa. Drying before processing: 4–8 hours at 80–100 °C to a residual moisture content of ≤0.2 %.
