Description

The linear styrene-butadiene-styrene thermoplastic is a product of block copolymerization of styrene and butadiene in a hydrocarbon solution in the presence of an organolithium catalyst. SBS L 30-01 A is dusted with calcium stearate or silica.

Key characteristics of the styrene-butadiene SBS L 30-01 A include:

  • retains elasticity at low temperatures
  • requires no vulcanization
  • soluble in aromatic, cycloaliphatic and aliphatic solvents
  • at normal temperatures exhibits the properties of vulcanized rubbers

Applications

Bitumen modification for road and roofing materials, plastics modification, footwear compounds, rubber goods, mastics and protective coatings.
