High-performance, high-reliability polyamide Rilsan PA11 (Arkema)

Description


PA11 is a benchmark of high performance in the world of engineering polymers. It is produced from a renewable source (castor oil), which makes it an environmentally friendly material. Nylon 11 (PA 11) is a polyamide, a bioplastic and a member of the nylon polymer family, obtained by polymerization of 11-aminoundecanoic acid. PA11 is used in the oil and gas, aerospace, automotive, textile and electronics industries and in the production of sports equipment. It is often used in tubing, wire sheathing and anti-corrosion coatings for metal.

Applications:


Automotive industry: tubes and hoses: high chemical resistance and resistance to temperature changes make PA11 a good material for tubes and hoses in vehicles. Wire sheathing: used for insulating and protecting wires thanks to its high abrasion resistance and chemical resistance.


Oil and gas industry: pipelines and hoses: PA11 is used for pipelines and hoses thanks to its resistance to chemicals and high strength. Cable sheathing: excellent chemical resistance and fatigue resistance make PA11 an excellent choice for cable jackets in aggressive environments.


Aerospace industry: wire and cable insulation: PA11 is used for wire and cable insulation thanks to its high resistance to extreme temperatures and chemical resistance.


Textile industry: composite materials: used to produce strong, durable composite materials. Threads and fibers: PA11 is used to produce threads and fibers thanks to its high elasticity and abrasion resistance.

Electronics: components and housings: high dimensional stability and chemical resistance make PA11 ideal for producing components and housings in electronics.


Sports equipment: gear components: high strength and abrasion resistance make PA11 suitable for sports equipment and gear.
