PBT Pocan B1100 — standard polybutylene terephthalate

Description

Pocan B1100 from LANXESS is a polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) with improved flow and high stiffness, distinguished by its resistance to elevated temperatures, chemicals, solvents, oils, fuels and cleaning fluids. The material offers good sliding properties, high strength and hardness, together with low susceptibility to stress cracking and low moisture absorption. The product is easily processed by injection molding and extrusion. Pocan® B1100 complies with RoHS 2 (Directive 2011/65/EU as amended by 2015/863) and REACH.

Applications

Pocan B1100 is suitable for food contact, which makes it appropriate for food-processing equipment components, such as packaging machine parts that must withstand frequent exposure to cleaning and disinfecting agents. Automotive industry: used for the production of interior and exterior parts, such as door handles, headlamp housings and other components exposed to elevated temperatures and aggressive chemicals (oils, fuels). Production of components for consumer electronics and household appliances: for example, computer housings, controls and buttons for various household devices.

Note: Pocan® B1100 is a standard PBT (UL 94 HB), not a flame-retardant grade. For applications with UL 94 V-0 / V-2 requirements (electrical connectors, live-part housings, under-hood automotive assemblies per UL/IEC), use the LANXESS Pocan FR series: B4225, B3225, B4235.
