PA-PE compatibilizer

Description

A reactive compatibilizer for PA-PE blends — a polyolefin grafted with maleic anhydride (PE-g-MAH). The maleic groups react with the terminal amino groups of the polyamide, forming covalent bonds between the polar PA phase and the non-polar PE phase. The result: better dispersion of the PE domain, reduced interfacial stresses, and no delamination during molding and pelletizing. Particularly effective when reprocessing rPA (from cable ties, housings, reinforced components) contaminated with polyethylene.

Applications

Polyamide recycling (rPA). Compounding of recycled PA contaminated with polyolefins (from cable ties, films, labels) — allows contaminated PE streams to be processed without separation.

PA-PE engineering blends. Creation of impact-modified compounds for technical parts — housings, connectors, brackets.

Barrier films. Multilayer PA/PE structures for food packaging (directional permeability).

Processing additive. Improved compatibility when compounding polyamides with glass-filled LDPE/HDPE compositions.
