Multifunctional compatibilizer J-4

Description

J-4 is a multifunctional reactive compatibilizer and chain extender for condensation polymers (PET, PBT, PC, PA66, PA6). Its epoxy functional groups react with the terminal carboxyl and hydroxyl groups of polyesters and polycarbonates, building up molecular weight and restoring melt viscosity when reprocessing recyclate. It improves hydrolytic stability, enhances physical and mechanical properties, and makes it possible to combine any pair of condensation polymers. An alternative to BASF Joncryl ADR 4368 in chain extension applications.

Applications

PET and PBT recycling. Restoring the IV (intrinsic viscosity) of recycled PET — for bottles, hot-fill containers, films. Particularly effective when reprocessing rPBT for automotive use.

Hydrolysis-resistant PA66 and PBT. Improved hydrolysis resistance in parts operating in high-humidity conditions (engine compartment, household appliances).

Condensation polymer blends. PC-PBT, PA-PET, PA-PC — compatibilization for technical parts.

Bottle production from recyclate. Restoring rPET properties for bottle-to-bottle recycling.
