High-Temperature Examid® PPA GF45 V0 Reinforced with Glass Fiber (45 %)
Description
Examid® PPA GF45 V0 is a highly filled engineering polyphthalamide based on PA6T/66, reinforced with 45 % glass fiber. The material combines high stiffness, heat resistance and excellent flame retardancy, making it suitable for applications under prolonged thermal, mechanical and electrical loads.
Thanks to its UL 94 V-0 flammability rating (IEC 60695-11-10) at 0.75 and 1.5 mm thickness, a glow wire ignition temperature of 925 °C and a limiting oxygen index of 49 %, the material meets fire safety requirements in critical assemblies and maintains geometric stability even in complex designs.
Examid® PPA GF45 V0 is optimally suited for thin-walled parts under high functional loads, where high molding precision, flame retardancy and operation near heat sources are required. The material is an engineering alternative to metal where weight reduction, complex geometry and operational reliability matter.
Key advantages
- UL 94 V-0 flammability rating (IEC 60695-11-10) at 0.75 and 1.5 mm
- Heat resistance up to 300 °C HDT (1.8 MPa)
- Stable electrical insulation properties under thermal and humidity loads
- High tensile strength (up to 175 MPa) and flexural strength (up to 290 MPa)
- Impact strength up to 13 kJ/m² at –40 °C — resistance to brittle failure
- Low shrinkage and accurate geometry even for complex shapes
- Stable dielectric characteristics over a wide temperature range
- Suitable for high-precision injection molding in series production
Applications
- Electronics: mounting bases, power supply housings, high-density connectors and holders
- Automotive: guides, brackets, covers, fastening elements in the engine compartment
- Power electronics and energy: inverter frames, switchboards, protective elements
- Mechanical engineering: bushings, supports, levers — for assemblies under constant thermal cycling
- HVAC and pump systems: thin-walled housings, seals, connections
- Insulators and technical frames operating under electric arcs, leakage currents and deformation
- Metal replacement in complex parts where weight, flame retardancy and dimensional accuracy are critical
