50% Glass Fiber PA610 — Examid® PA610 GF50

Description

Examid® PA610 GF50 is a long-chain polyamide 610 reinforced with 50% glass fiber. A combination standard PA6/PA66 GF grades cannot offer: high stiffness (flexural modulus of 15,000 MPa, flexural strength of 305 MPa) with water absorption of only 1.6% — versus 4–6% for PA6 GF50.

The practical consequence: parts are engineered to dry-as-molded data without humidity corrections — geometry and mechanics stay stable year-round, including water and humid-air contact. Flow shrinkage of 0.2%. HDT of 200 °C at 1.80 MPa.

The grade's niche is structural parts in hydraulics, plumbing, outdoor assemblies and E&E where PA6/PA66 GF50 drift with moisture. Processing: melt 250–270 °C, mold 80–110 °C. Analogs — glass-filled Ultramid® S Balance.

PA610 GF50: 15 GPa stiffness at 1.6% water absorption — stable in any humidity
Applications: structural hydraulic and plumbing parts, outdoor assemblies, E&E components, dimensionally stable parts for humid environments.

FAQ

Why pay for PA610 GF50 over PA6 GF50?

When the part operates in humid environments: 1.6% vs 4–6% water absorption — dimensions and stiffness do not degrade, no swelling allowances needed.

Is it suitable for water contact?

Yes, saturation water absorption of 1.6% keeps the material stable in hydraulic and plumbing assemblies; verify drinking-water approvals separately.

Is the material bio-based?

Partially: the sebacic acid in PA610 is derived from castor oil — renewable feedstock within the polymer.
