50% Glass Fiber PA6, Heat-Stabilized — Examid® PA6 GF50 Y

Description

Examid® PA6 GF50 Y is a heat-stabilized polyamide 6 reinforced with 50% E-glass fiber, in natural color. A highly filled compound for structural parts: tensile modulus of 15,500 MPa, strength of 195 MPa, flexural modulus of 13,000 MPa.

Heat stabilization enables long-term service at elevated temperatures, with HDT of 210 °C at 1.80 MPa. Flow-direction shrinkage of 0.2–0.4% keeps large structural parts dimensionally stable. Charpy unnotched impact of 90 kJ/m² — highly filled, yet not brittle.

Economically the grade beats PA66 GF50 where peak service temperature stays below ~120 °C: comparable mechanics at a lower price. Class analog — Ultramid® B3WG10. Processing: melt 260–280 °C, mold 80–100 °C, up to 25% regrind.

FAQ

PA6 GF50 or PA66 GF50 — how to choose?

If service temperature stays below ~120 °C, PA6 GF50 delivers comparable mechanics at lower cost. Above 120–150 °C, switch to PA66 GF50.

What does heat stabilization (Y) provide?

Slowed thermo-oxidative aging: retained mechanics during long-term elevated-temperature service.

Which Ultramid® grade does it replace?

In composition and property profile — Ultramid® B3WG10 class (PA6 GF50).
