Polyamide PA6 for Cable Ties — Examid® PA6 6027/1

Description

Examid® PA6 6027/1 is an unreinforced polyamide 6 developed for injection molding of cable ties, fastening elements and flexible technical parts. The property profile is task-optimized: tensile strength of 80 MPa combined with 42% elongation (dry) — the tie holds tension without breaking at the locking head.

After conditioning the material gains elasticity: Charpy unnotched impact shows no break, critical for ties operating under vibration and dynamic loads. This is standard behavior for PA6 in the cable-tie grade class.

Processing is straightforward: melt 240–260 °C, mold 60–80 °C — stable molding of thin locking bands in multi-cavity tools. The grade is positioned as a cost-efficient alternative to imported cable-tie PA6 with a comparable property profile.

FAQ

Why do PA6 cable ties need conditioning?

Dry PA6 is stiff and brittle; after reaching equilibrium moisture (~2.5–3%) the material becomes elastic — the locking head bends without breaking.

Is the grade suitable for multi-cavity tools?

Yes, the grade is designed for stable filling of thin locking bands at 240–260 °C — the standard regime for volume tie molding.

Why is Examid® 6027/1 more cost-effective than imports?

A comparable cable-tie PA6 property profile with better volume-procurement economics and local supply support.
