Description

Examid® PA6 2320NC is an injection-molding grade of polyamide 6 in natural color (NC — Natural Color, no colorants), optimized for serial production of latches, side-release buckles, snap-fit fasteners and hardware with dynamic engagement. Designation: 2320 — internal formulation index focused on the elastic deformation of snap elements, NC — natural color.

A dedicated grade for parts whose design relies on a spring-type latching mechanism: buckle tongues, snap-fit hooks, push-button latches. The balance of stiffness (to hold the lock) and elasticity (for repeated snapping without fatigue failure) is the critical engineering parameter for serial production of such hardware.

Typical parameters: density ~1.13 g/cm³, MFR ~20–30 g/10 min (275 °C / 5 kg), yield strength 55–70 MPa (dry), tensile modulus 2.5–3.0 GPa, elongation at break 50–150 %, Charpy notched impact strength 4–6 kJ/m² at 23 °C, Tm 220 °C, continuous service temperature −30…+80 °C. UL 94 V-2 (standard). Natural color — a base for masterbatch coloring.

Limitations

  • UL 94 V-2 — not for FR-critical electrical hardware (for V-0, see dedicated PA6 FR / PA66 FR grades)
  • The high water absorption of PA6 (~9 %) — parts change dimensions in high-humidity environments; verify critical snap-fit joints for geometric deviations under service conditions
  • Continuous service at temperatures above 80 °C is not recommended — for high-temperature hardware see PA66 2320 or Examid® PA66 NC

  • Industrial packaging: snap-lock reusable transport containers, buckles for packaging hardware
