Description


Exaflame PA/PBT is a non-toxic, halogen-free flame retardant based on metal salts for polyamides (PA6, PA66, PA12) and polyesters (PBT, PET). This bromine-free and chlorine-free system with low smoke emission provides UL94 V0 and 5VA ratings at moderate loadings while preserving the mechanical properties of the matrix. It releases no corrosive acid gases during combustion — critical for electronic applications. An alternative to Clariant Exolit OP 1230/1240/1311 (DEPAL) in halogen-free FR applications for PA66 GF.

Applications

Automotive (e-mobility). Battery module housings, high-voltage connectors, EV cable connections — meeting UL94 V0 + glow wire test requirements.

Cable insulation and jackets. PA66/PBT for jackets with zero HBr/HCl emission in case of fire (tunnels, subways, data centers).

Rail transport. EN 45545-2 R22/R23 (HL2/HL3) — interior components, housings.

Household appliances. Housings for heating appliances, coffee machines and irons — per IEC 60335 and UL94.
