Thermoplastic polyurethane TPU Desmopan 1092A (Covestro)

Description

Desmopan® 1092A from Covestro is a hydrolysis-stabilized thermoplastic polyurethane (ester-based) block copolymer. The material demonstrates high mechanical strength and a very short molding cycle time. The linear polymer chains of Desmopan® 1092A consist of alternating flexible, elastic segments with a low glass transition temperature and rigid crystalline segments with a high melting temperature. It is intended for injection molding and is recommended for gear-shift lever knobs, roller tires, clutch elements and shoe heels.

Advantages:

  • High mechanical strength
  • Hydrolysis-stabilized
  • Short molding cycle time
  • Elasticity and stiffness

Applications:

Desmopan® 1092A is used in various industries thanks to its unique properties. The main application areas include:

Gear-shift lever knobs: High strength and wear resistance.

Roller tires: Durability and resistance to mechanical damage.

Clutch elements: Reliability and dimensional stability.

Shoe heels: Strength and wear resistance, ensuring long-lasting footwear.
