Heat-resistant glass-filled polyphthalamide AKROMID T5 GF50

Description

AKROMID® T5 GF50 is a polyphthalamide reinforced with 50 % glass fiber. This material is characterized by very high stiffness and strength even at elevated temperatures up to 120 °C. Thanks to its low moisture absorption, the mechanical properties remain virtually unchanged even in humid environments. AKROMID® T5 GF50 also offers high resistance to creep, hydrolysis and chemical attack, which makes it a preferred material for under-hood applications and connectors with demanding strength requirements.

Applications

Suitable for the production of automotive parts operating at high temperatures, such as engine housings, suspension components, valve covers and brackets. Used for the production of bearings, gears, valves and other mechanical components where high strength and wear resistance are essential. Also used for fasteners requiring durability and corrosion resistance.
