The grade is designed for technical parts that require wear resistance, low friction, stable geometry, high surface quality and resistance to chemical environments.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike glass-filled POK grades, this material is not aimed at maximum stiffness. Its strength lies in parts that need more stable molding behavior, warpage control, a good surface and predictable performance under friction. This makes Exablend\u00ae POK MF25 S2 a practical candidate for housings, covers, pump and valve elements, gears and wear-resistant technical components.<\/p>\n<h3>Engineering rationale of the grade<\/h3>\n<p>Exablend\u00ae POK MF25 S2 is worth considering where the usual logic of \u201cthe higher the modulus, the better\u201d does not apply. In many molded parts the problem is not a lack of maximum strength but a combination of other factors: surface quality, shape stability, contact friction, chemical environment, fit accuracy and a low risk of distortion after cooling.<\/p>\n<p>The mineral filler in this grade works differently from glass fiber. It does not create the level of anisotropy typical of fiber reinforcement, so the material can be interesting for parts where more uniform shrinkage and geometry control in different directions matter. According to the TDS, shrinkage in the flow and cross-flow directions lies within the same range \u2014 <strong>1.4\u20131.6%<\/strong>, which is an important indicator for warpage-sensitive parts.<\/p>\n<h3>Where the material performs best<\/h3>\n<p>Exablend\u00ae POK MF25 S2 is most appropriate in assemblies where the part does not need to be excessively stiff but must perform reliably in contact with other surfaces, liquids or technical media. This is a material for applications in which surface, friction and shape stability matter as much as mechanical strength.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>automotive functional parts;<\/li>\n<li>housings and covers for electrical and electronic products;<\/li>\n<li>industrial gears and motion transmission elements;<\/li>\n<li>wear-resistant sliding parts;<\/li>\n<li>pump and valve housings;<\/li>\n<li>precision technical components;<\/li>\n<li>parts where surface quality and low tendency to warp are important.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How MF25 differs from GF and CF grades<\/h3>\n<p>Glass-filled POK GF30 and GF50 are logical when the primary requirement is high stiffness, structural strength and minimal deformation under load. Carbon-filled POK CF20 is interesting for precision parts with a high modulus, lower density and functional surface properties.<\/p>\n<p>Exablend\u00ae POK MF25 S2 occupies a different position. It should be chosen not for maximum reinforcement but for parts that need low friction, wear resistance, chemical resistance, a stable surface and geometry control. In such applications a mineral filler can be a better solution than an excessively stiff fiber-reinforced grade.<\/p>\n<h3>Key advantages of Exablend\u00ae POK MF25 S2<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>25% mineral filler for stable molding behavior;<\/li>\n<li>good balance of wear resistance, low friction and chemical resistance;<\/li>\n<li>uniform linear shrinkage in the flow and cross-flow directions;<\/li>\n<li>elongation at break of 10%;<\/li>\n<li>unnotched Izod impact strength of 60 kJ\/m\u00b2;<\/li>\n<li>melting temperature of 220\u00b0C;<\/li>\n<li>suitability for housings, covers, gears, pump and valve elements;<\/li>\n<li>a good alternative where fiber reinforcement can create excessive anisotropy or warpage risk.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Technical specifications<\/h3>\n<p>The main physical-mechanical and thermal characteristics are given in the table below. For this grade it is important to evaluate not only strength or modulus but the combination of parameters: shrinkage, surface quality, impact behavior, friction, chemical resistance and stability of the molded part.<\/p>\n<h3>Processing recommendations<\/h3>\n<p>Exablend\u00ae POK MF25 S2 is intended for injection molding. To achieve stable geometry, it is recommended to control mold temperature, material drying, cavity filling and the cooling regime. Since the grade targets precision technical parts, molding quality should be assessed not only by the absence of defects but also by dimensional stability after cooling and the repeatability of series production.<\/p>\n<p>The material is supplied pre-dried in moisture-proof packaging. If the bag has been open for more than one hour, re-drying before processing is recommended.<\/p>\n<h3>Design considerations<\/h3>\n<p>For parts made of POK MF25 S2 it is especially important to consider wall thickness, cooling uniformity, mating surfaces, friction contact zones and surface quality requirements.
