It is sourced from controlled industrial streams: production waste from PA12 tubing and hose extrusion, post-process powder from SLS 3D printing (HP Multi Jet Fusion, EOS, Stratasys), and regrind from the cable industry. Not to be confused with post-consumer recycle (household waste) \u2014 Examid\u00ae PA12 R is an <strong>industrial-grade recyclate with traceable origin<\/strong> and controlled batch parameters.<\/p>\n<p>PA12 is the most expensive standard polyamide (1.5\u20132.5 times more expensive than PA6, 4\u20135 times more expensive than PE). The recyclate reduces cost by 30\u201350 % vs virgin PA12 while retaining ~85\u201395 % of the mechanical properties of the virgin material and fully identical chemical properties (low water absorption, fuel resistance, flexibility). ESG parameters: carbon footprint (Scope 3) is 60\u201370 % lower vs virgin PA12.<\/p>\n<p>The position is particularly strong in the <strong>closed-loop 3D-printing economy<\/strong>: after SLS printing, 50\u201380 % of the original PA12 powder remains unreacted in the cake. Examid\u00ae PA12 R partly originates from these SLS-overflow sources, which ensures high quality of the base molecule.<\/p>\n<p>Typical parameters (recycled PA12): density 1.01 g\/cm\u00b3, Tm \u2248 175\u2013178 \u00b0C, MFR slightly higher than virgin (~10\u201320 % due to partial degradation of the molecular chain), water absorption ~1.5 % at saturation, impact strength retained at ~85 % of the virgin level, elongation at break 200\u2013300 %. Color: natural (opaque beige\/grey) \u2014 partial colour-bleed is possible depending on the source of the input stream.<\/p>\n<h3>Key advantages<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>30\u201350 % cost reduction<\/strong> vs virgin PA12 \u2014 a material carrying the same key properties at a lower price<\/li>\n<li><strong>ESG labeling:<\/strong> 100 % industrial recycled content, Scope 3 carbon footprint 60\u201370 % lower vs virgin \u2014 a contribution to the circular economy for brands<\/li>\n<li><strong>Low water absorption (~1.5 %)<\/strong> and density of 1.01 g\/cm\u00b3 retained from virgin PA12 \u2014 dimensional stability<\/li>\n<li><strong>High flexibility and impact strength<\/strong>, including at low temperatures (down to \u221240 \u00b0C)<\/li>\n<li>UV and thermal stabilization \u2014 for outdoor applications<\/li>\n<li>Resistance to fuels, glycols and oils \u2014 characteristic of PA12<\/li>\n<li>Traceable industrial origin \u2014 not post-consumer, controlled batches<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Limitations and considerations<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Base UL 94 HB rating<\/strong> (not V-0); for flame-retardant applications \u2014 Examid\u00ae PA12 E-V0 (virgin)<\/li>\n<li>MFR is 10\u201320 % higher than virgin \u2014 better filling of thin-walled parts, but wall strength may be lower<\/li>\n<li>Color \u2014 natural\/grey only. Micro-inclusions of colored particles from the input stream are possible.
